About the Design
“I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.”
This is what we profess each Sunday at Mass in the Nicene Creed. These are the four marks of the true church Jesus founded.
One: The Catholic Church teaches one set of doctrines. These doctrines unify the Church in one belief. They are the same doctrines taught by the apostles.
Holy: The Church is holy by the grace of God, just as He is holy. We as individual members may not always be holy, but the Church itself is holy.
Catholic: Catholic means “universal” in Greek. The Church is universal because it is for all people. Jesus said to go throughout the world and make disciples of “all nations”.
Apostolic: Jesus appointed the apostles as the first “leaders” of the Church. Since the apostles, there have been an unbroken line of bishops teaching the same beliefs as the apostles taught.
